Davis Gulch is a major tributary of the Escalante Arm, entering on its western shore at about mile 77. The twisting gulch is frequently crowded because of visitors to La Gorce Arch. It was near the head of this canyon that twenty-one-year-old explorer, artist, and poet, Everett Ruess disappeared in 1934.
